This handbound book combines raised, natural jute cords with decorative stitches forming icicles on 9 signatures (sections)

While the covers are more secure than in most books, because the jute spine cords are threaded through the cover itself, the style is an inversion of the traditional methods, as the cover boards are covered with decorative paper before the spine cords are attached. This makes has the effect of the cover boards having a wider range of motion while still being very tightly secured to the body of the book.

The cover boards are 1/4" thick and are decorated with Thai banana paper printed with green and gold fern leaves.


The journal was hand bound with green waxed linen thread.
